Dear Organisers, Participants and Viewers of the 27th International Young Audience Film Festival Ale Kino!
Each year the International Young Audience Film Festival gives young people an opportunity to watch films made especially for them. Over several festival days, children and teenagers can become familiar with samples of cinematography from the world over. Thanks to films they get to know other cultures and traditions, develop their tolerance, open up to the world and stimulate curiosity.
A good film can be an appealing educational tool. It makes it possible to shape children’s imagination and stir an interest in different areas of science, like geography, history or art. Used in a lesson, it assists teachers in illustrating issues they talk about. This is why I appreciate the fact that during the festival professionals involved in young people’s education and upbringing have a chance to take part in scientific sessions and workshops presenting the role of films in education.
I would like to congratulate the Festival Organisers on creating a valuable initiative directed at children and teenagers and I wish young people a lot of unforgettable moments.
With regards,
Katarzyna Hall
